The new BMW F 800 GS – a great bike for everybody? No, unfortunately not if you are shorter than 175 cm. In this case getting both feet securely on the ground is going to pose a problem. We managed to decrease the seating height of the vehicle by shortening the telescopic fork and by installation of a specially constructed Wilbers shock absorber for up to 60 mm! Because the original cartridge damping system of the fork cannot be disassembled, the telescopic fork has to be ´operated`. This operation can either be undertaken directly here in Nordhorn or with our service point in Bochum, the company BMW Motorradzentrum Bochum. Forward us the BMW’s telescopic fork together with weight details of your client and whether you want the ride height to be lowered for 30 or 60 mm and we’ll send it back together with the corresponding shock absorber within 14 days! Naturally you can also order fork springs and oil as well as sophisticated Wilbers shocks for the standard seating height – here you’d have the choice between different types of suspension elements and might also fit the hydraulic preload adjuster tool to the shocks. For lowering the BMW we have calculated a special price including ´telescopic fork operation` as a kit:

The fork springs recommended for the standard fork are progressively coiled and possess huge reserves against bottoming out. The Wilbers shock is always custom made and individually setup referring to the riders’ weight and riding style! All prices are sales prices ex-factory Nordhorn and include the German VAT. Due to security reasons the lowering can only be ordered as a kit so that with a lowering order you’ll definitely have to send in the fork! Wilbers products generally hold a German ABE (general certificate of operation). On Wilbers shocks we grand 5 years warranty while our fork springs have 29 years warranty!
