Great start of a new job for Joshua Sommer

after the „contract termination“ of Jesco Günther during his wild card mission on the Nürburgring, the Triumph this time was ridden by the emerging talent Joshua Sommer from Flensburg! Without any previous training with the Daytona 675 Joshua celebrated his premiere test-laps Friday morning on the Salzburgrung. From the very beginning Joshua felt fit as a fiddle on the Daytona and to everyone’s surprise rode best time with his second turn on a rain soaked track!

Joshua Sommer:
„The Daytona reacts both strong and sensitively. I was absolutely convinced that there must have been a traction control installed. I’m totally looking forward to another race in the rain!!”

During qualifying on Sunday weather has turned warm and waterless, but even then Joshua was clearly enjoying the Daytona. After diverse tuning modifications he scored 9th starting position at first go. In consideration of the fact that 50 riders participated in the training this result is more than surprising! Without the slightest problem during training and warm-up a perfectly working Triumph was moved to the first start for the Wilbers Racing Team. However expectations had grown after the great performance during qualifying – especially on Joshuas’ side!

The end result was a good start, a perfect race, 8th position in the end, only 4 seconds behind the winner Cudlin and 0.9 seconds after Triumph colleague and IDM top of the table Arne Tode! This of course is a promising start into a great and thrilling second half of the season. Indeed Joshua turns out to be more than just a worthy replacement who, by the way, is going to take up an apprenticeship in our company as mechanic 1st of August!
Unfortunately our junior, Dominik Vincon, stroke less lucky. In succession of another cropper during training poor Dominik fell so badly during warm-up that he had to be taken to hospital. All we know right now is that he is going to stay there for at least a couple of days! We hope that he’ll be recovered until the next race in Schleiz 1st till 3rd August, wish him all the best and , most importantly, that he’ll get well soon!
